Chiropractic is a healthcare profession that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders, particularly those affecting the spine. Chiropractors use a hands-on approach to manipulate and adjust the spine and other joints in the body to improve alignment, reduce pain, and promote healing.

Chiropractic care is based on the idea that the body has an innate ability to heal itself, and that this process can be facilitated by removing interference with the nervous system, which controls and coordinates all bodily functions. Chiropractors understand that misalignments in the spine can disrupt the nervous system and contribute to a wide range of health problems. Chiropractors may also use diagnostic imaging, such as X-rays or MRI scans, to help diagnose and plan treatment.

Chiropractic is considered safe and effective for most patients, although there are some risks associated with certain types of adjustments. As with any medical treatment, it is important to discuss the potential benefits and risks of chiropractic care before beginning treatment.

Certified Athletic Therapists (CAT) are skilled healthcare professionals that specialize in providing care for orthopaedic injuries, whether acute or chronic. Furthermore, CAT’s are experts at injury assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, reconditioning, and prevention.

Athletic Therapy treatments are based on the Sport Medicine Model, an rehabilitation approach with an objective to find and treat the cause of conditions and not just the symptoms. This method also encourages the patient to follow an active approach to rehabilitating an injury or condition, rather than a passive, therapist-dependent approach with reliance on modalities. This leads to faster recovery, decreases risk of re-injury, and reinforces treatment outcomes.

Certified Athletic Therapists also are first responders, providing sideline emergency care for sports organizations

Isabel feels honoured to support her patients in addressing important issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma and chronic pain that have brought them to her practice. As a woman of Brazilian heritage living in Victoria, B.C. she has come to learn the importance of being inclusive and to welcome and celebrate diversity in her practice. She is especially inspired to support issues linked to feelings of low self-worth, inclusion and belonging. A counselling session with Isabel is a collaborative approach where respect, safety and well-being will always come first.

Isabel’s approach to clinical counselling is emotion-focused, experiential and relational. She is passionate about holding a safe space for her clients to explore the interconnectedness of their body and mind which fosters adaptation and well-being. The relational work that Isabel offers helps her clients to feel less alone in their journey while building a trusting and respectful relationship which fosters the opportunity to develop openness and enthusiasm for ‘biting’ into life’s pains and challenges with greater taste and strength.

Isabel earned my MA in Social Psychology, aiming to explore how the cooking experience facilitates the individual towards the development of self-understanding and connection to others. Roxy is not taking new patients at this time. Roxy (she/her) has been journeying alongside people throughout her adult life as a teacher, intern supervisor, mentor, mountain guide, group facilitator, youth worker and now counsellor. She finds that, in the context of safe and caring relationships, people continually find the tools, resources, strength, and insight within themselves to steer their lives in new, life-giving directions.

Roxy’s counselling is informed and supported by constructivist modalities, where an individual is seen within the context of a greater social and cultural landscape. She sees how the broader world impacts individuals and also how working with individuals, couples, families, and communities impacts the broader world. She grounds her work in evidence based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioural and Solution Focussed Therapy and she also includes mindfulness, experiential art practices, and somatic (body) attunement. Mostly, though, Roxy works hard to find the therapeutic style that works best for her clients.

Roxy currently holds a masters degree from City University of Seattle in Clinical Counselling, and has had education or training in a number of modalities and theories for various issues.

In her work with all people, queer and feminist theory inform her practice and she is constantly looking for new ideas and insights to enhance the ways she supports clients.

Roxy enjoys working with clients navigating various challenges such as: - Anxiety, depression, fear, guilt, shame, negative thoughts, distressing emotions - Ecological distress or climate dread - Addiction/problematic substance use - Self-harm, suicidal thinking, ‘obsessive’ thinking, eating challenges and negative body image - Struggles with parenting, challenging behaviors with children - Sexuality, gender identity, gender confusion, sexual orientation - Trauma, post-traumatic stress, adverse childhood experiences - Important life decisions, midlife and end of life challenges - Grief and Loss - Spiritual integration - Couples and Relationship Counselling
